Born in South Korea,
Based in the Hague, Netherlands
Naeun Kang is an artist living and working in the Hague, Netherlands. Kang’s works focus on exploring human conditions and irrationality. Drawn upon subjective experiences and glitch-like mental images, Kang’s works question the way we perceive and navigate the world around us. Fictional scenarios and daily conundrums are both often the starting point of Kang’s works, which are ephemerally rendered, making the happening in the painting somewhat expansive and relatable to the viewer. While using painting as her main medium, Kang has thus far produced performance, video, and photography, prints and sculptural works, as well as installations that combine these media,
Born in Changwon in 1994, Kang spent her youth in Incheon and spent her adolescence in San Diego (U.S), Kabarnet(Kenya). In 2013, Kang moved to The Hague, Netherlands to study Fine Arts with a focus on painting in the Royal Academy of Arts and graduated in 2018.
